Project Brief: Reverse Osmosis (RO) System Installation at Lake Ndutu Tented Lodge
Overview:
We Implemented the Project of a Reverse Osmosis (RO) system at Lake Ndutu Tented Lodge to ensure reliable access to clean and potable water. This system is designed to run fully sustainably for which will be powered by a Solar power system.
Project Scope:
This project involves Installation of Reverse Osmosis System powered by Solar System at Lake Ndutu Tented Lodge, scheduled for completion by March 2024. This system comprise of the following:
- Reverse Osmosis Plant (1000 litres of clean water per hour): A containerized RO plant capable of producing 1000 liters of clean water per hour, ensuring a steady and ample supply of potable water for the lodge’s needs.
- TDS & PH Tester: A specialized tester to monitor Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and pH levels, ensuring the water meets quality standards consistently.
- Solar Power Integration: An 8.64 kWp solar array consisting of 16 x JA SOLAR MBB HALF-CELL MONOCRYSTALLINE PV MODULES (540W each) powers the RO system, ensuring energy efficiency and sustainability.
- Charge Controllers: Two VICTRON SmartSolar Charge Controller MPPT 150/85-TR units regulate the solar power input efficiently, optimizing energy production and storage.
- Inverter Charger: Three VICTRON Multiplus-II Inverter Charger 3.0kVA 48V units provide reliable power conversion and backup, ensuring uninterrupted operation of the RO system.
- Lithium Battery Storage: A FREEDOM WON LiTE COMMERCIAL 10/8 Lithium Battery (10kWh HV LiFePO4) provides energy storage for nighttime or low-sunlight operation, enhancing system reliability.
- Remote Monitoring: The entire system is remotely monitored using Victron Cerbo GX and GX touch display, allowing for real-time performance tracking, proactive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Importance for the Client:
- Access to Clean Water: Ensuring a continuous supply of clean and safe water for guests is paramount for the reputation and success of Lake Ndutu Tented Lodge.
- Sustainability: The integration of solar power reduces reliance on traditional energy sources, aligning with the client’s commitment to sustainability and reducing operational costs.
- Reliability: With remote monitoring capabilities and backup power systems in place, the client can have peace of mind knowing that the water supply will remain uninterrupted even during power outages or adverse weather conditions.
- Future-Proofing: Investing in advanced technology like the RO system sets a precedent for future projects, demonstrating the client’s commitment to modern solutions and environmental responsibility.
