The Challenge
Matale Secondary School, home to the Little Sun programme, faced frequent power outages that disrupted daily operations and reduced productivity. The lack of a reliable power source made it difficult to maintain a consistent workflow, forcing dependence on expensive and unsustainable energy alternatives. The existing system could not meet the school’s critical energy needs, making an upgrade essential.
Renewable Solution
To address these challenges, GadgetroniX installed a 9.72 kWp off-grid solar system with battery storage and remote monitoring. The solution included:
- 9.72 kWp of photovoltaic solar panels for efficient energy capture
- 14.4 kWh of deep-cycle solar batteries for a sustained power supply
- 5 kVA/48V inverter/charger for efficient power regulation and distribution
- EasySolar-II GX remote monitoring for performance management and proactive maintenance
