ARE pushes for inclusive financing for renewables at SAM 2025
The Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) participated in the African Inclusive Finance Week, of which it has been a longstanding partner. Organised by ARE Member ADA Asbl, SAM 2025 took place in Nairobi, Kenya, on 13-17 October 2025.
Jens Jaeger, ARE Director of Policy and Business Development, and Eleni Nikolantou, Business Development Assistant, attended the event, where more than 1,100 delegates from across the world gathered to discuss and collaborate.
On Day 2, Jens Jaeger spoke in a session focusing on the importance of funding opportunities, highlighting the importance of inclusive financing to enhance and expand the scope of DRE.

During the awards ceremony at the Innovator’s Village, ARE presented the “Best Inclusive Energy Project” award to RenewGen Burundi and Rubyx.
