ARE highlights nexus of distributed renewables & telecom at MWC 2025

A high-level delegation from the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE), including AG Energies Co. Ltd, Asantys Systems GmbH, Bamboo Capital Partners, CEGASA, NESELTEC, SAGEMCOM, Upya Technologies, and Victron Energy, attended MWC Kigali to explore synergies between renewable electrification and telecom & connectivity.
On the third day of the event, ARE contributed to a session at the Ministriel Programme on financing green energy and telecom infrastructure, emphasising the role of distributed renewables in enabling sustainable connectivity. The other speakers of the session included Hon. Kabbyanga B.K. Godfrey, State Minister for ICT & NG of Uganda; Hon. Behdja Lammali of Pan-African Parliament; Hon. Yves Iradukunda, Minister of State for ICT & Innovation of Rwanda; Tunji Alabi of Infratel Africa; Ryan Kilpatrick of GOGLA; Erin O’Brien of CrossBoundary Group; Lande Abudu of GSMA; Isabella Hayward, The World Bank; Caroline Mbugua,MBA,HSC., GSMA.
