The Challenge – Power Shortages at Lekule Secondary School
Lekule Secondary School in Longido, Arusha, struggled with an unreliable power supply that disrupted learning and administrative activities. Dependence on costly and inconsistent grid electricity, combined with limited lighting, hindered students from studying after dark.
Reliance on fossil fuel generators raised operational costs and environmental concerns, making a sustainable solar energy solution urgently necessary.
Renewable Solution – Solar Energy System for Lekule Secondary School
To address these challenges, GadgetroniX installed a 6.48 kWp off-grid solar system with battery storage and hybrid inverter technology. The solution included:
-
6.48 kWp JA Solar Monocrystalline Solar Panels – high-efficiency panels for clean energy generation
-
20 kWh Freedom Won LiTE Home LiFePO4 Battery – long-lasting lithium-ion storage for continuous power
-
Victron Easy Solar II 3kVA/48V Hybrid Inverter – advanced inverter with built-in MPPT charge controller for optimal solar use
This upgrade reduced reliance on fossil fuels, lowered energy costs, and ensured a steady, renewable power supply for the school.
