About us: Alliance for Rural Electrification
GadgetroniX

The Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) is an international business association that promotes a sustainable decentralised renewable energy industry for the 21st century.

ARE activates markets for affordable energy services and creates local jobs and inclusive economies in Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America.

ARE also enables improved energy access through business development support for its Members along the whole value chain for decentralised renewable energy technologies.

As part of its UN Energy Compact, ARE has pledged to enable the private sector

  • to deliver sustainable electricity services to at least 500 million additional people in its three focus regions,
  • to catalyse the creation of at least 5 million green jobs,
  • to avoid at least 1 billion tonnes of CO2 emissions by 2030.

It is the vision of ARE that by 2030 everyone in the world and in particular all rural people in low-and medium-income countries should have access to affordable, secure and clean energy and energy services.

ARE has a great network. They introduced us to lots of developers and regulators in multiple markets that we needed to work with in order to get our technology out there. They published our case studies which made a lot of people to reach us and give feedback. Ultimately, this has let us scale up and legitimise our technology.

ARE is an amazing network platform that connects thousands of stakeholders across the sector. The events, webinars, case studies and newsletters have been great tools to showcase our activities. These tools have increased our visibility and enabled us to reach more targeted audiences.
