Brussels, 5 October 2015 - The Energy Access Action Plan delivered by the Sustainable Energy for All Initiative (SEforAll) to the G20 Energy Sustainability Working Group was adopted on October 2 in Istanbul at the G20 Energy Ministers meeting. In particular, it lends its support to collaborative efforts such as those of the SEforAll Clean Energy Mini-Grids High Impact Opportunity (HIO) including the Africa-focused Green Mini-Grid Market Development Program. New York, 19 May 2015 - In the framework of the 2nd UN SEforAll Forum, the Clean Energy Mini-Grids High Impact Opportunity (HIO) working group presented its first edition of a mapping tool covering clean energy mini-grid support providers. Available as a written publication and online, this mapping tool provides an ideal resource for potential project developers. The session on mini-grids moderated by Richenda van Leuven (UNF) faced a lot of interest from the attendees. Madrid, 5 March 2015 - 150 energy access stakeholders from the public and private sector, as well as from civil society, gathered at the Ministerio de Economia y Competitividad to discuss opportunities in rural electrification markets in a one-day unique business matchmaking workshop. The Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE), in cooperation with ICEX Spain Trade and Investment, organised the workshop to further advance cooperation between the public, private and finance sector. This platform, organised by ARE on a regular basis, assists off-grid market professionals and newcomers to learn about upcoming initiatives and projects in the pipeline as well as to create new business opportunities in the sector.
