Pilio

Pilio is an environmental solutions provider supporting organisations to develop and meet their sustainability commitments. We enable organisations to measure, report, and act to reduce environmental impacts through energy, carbon and nature softwares and services rooted in science. With our specialist knowledge, Pilio works with businesses and their stakeholders to embed good energy and sustainability practices, supporting them to achieve environmental targets, meet compliance, enhance their reputation, and achieve costs savings.

Pilio spun out of the University of Oxford in 2011 and graduated from the Climate-KIC accelerator programme in 2015. Founders Catherine Bottrill and Dr. Russell Layberry have been working together for 20 years, bringing cutting edge energy and environmental analytics and innovation to those with responsibility for reducing the environmental impacts of their operations and catalysing the transition to a green economy.

Pilio is currently developing a clean energy finance solution in cotton regions of Pakistan which enables fashion brands to invest in their supply chain. This solution ensures cotton growing farmers access to clean, accessible and affordable energy services whilst enabling global fashion brands to meet their climate goals for greenhouse emission reductions. This work is supported by Innovate UK’s Energy Catalyst Programme.
