NewAfrica Bioenergy

NewAfrica is a developer, part-owner and operator of distributed renewable energy (RE) assets based on a robust waste (agriculture and forest residuals) to RE model in Africa. It provides a new RE business model offering 24/7 electricity and heat for C&I and grids that will:

  • capitalise on large amounts of underutilised, sustainably-grown biomass.
  • improve energy efficiency, optimise heat, maximise peak-period power and manage demand.
  • utilise modern, high pressure CHP plants, used worldwide and explore synergies.
  • build high value IPPs based on bioenergy baseload and synergetic intermittent power.

NewAfrica’s partners built a dozen CHPs and are now creating an African platform for modern bioenergy based on scale, operating excellence and sustainable sources of competitive advantages.

The team has extensive experience, networks, on-the-ground experience and intimate knowledge of African biomass that uniquely positions it to create above-market return. NewAfrica is supported by private investors and funders of RE.
