Job description

The Senior Electrical Engineer (EE)  is responsible for:

Develop electrical design, technical specifications, schematics, equipment selection, and other data to evaluate the feasibility of designs or applications.

EE will provide design solutions to meet the customer’s requirements, site specifications and local standards during the tendering and execution stage.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cable schedules & Specifications definitions.
  • Systems diagrams (SLDs), System Integration Drawing and load calculations.
  • Provides the specifications for the major equipment and compliance and deviation list from vendors.
  • Requests, reviews, and approves sub-consultant proposals to provide a complete set of design documents for the opportunity.
  • Provides the technical narrative for the critical infrastructure to be incorporated into the proposal.

Tendering phase:

  • Participates in the opportunity with the team leader (accountable), internal and external customer or customer’s representative to understand and document the owner’s project requirements during the influence stage.
  • Understands the standards and local codes of the opportunity.
  • Provides appropriate design documents to support the proposal and allow the tendering team to complete the overall solution, design and cost.
    These design documents should identify at a minimum the following, as applicable:- Identification of major infrastructure equipment.
    – Bid specifications for the major/long lead equipments.
    – Cable schedules & Specifications definitions.
    – Systems diagrams (SLDs), System Integration Drawing and load calculations.
    – Provides the specifications for the major equipment and compliance and deviation list from vendors.
    – Requests, reviews, and approves sub-consultant proposals to provide a complete set of design documents for the opportunity.
    – Provides the technical narrative for the critical infrastructure to be incorporated into the proposal.

Design Phase

  • Performs code analysis for the project.
  • Takes the lead for the electrical basis of design for the project, including and not limited to: redundancy requirements, detailed design, detailed calculations, product selection, SLD and LV panel validation.
  • Engineering support function, supporting requests from other engineering teams, factory, commisiong, sub-contractors, services, site support.
  • Supports on System Sequence of Operation (SOO)
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Supports the bid risk assessment.

Construction Phase

  • Provides support and response to the factories for integration.
  • Validates internal/external factories and subcontractors design, i.e. approval for multiwiring diagrams.
  • Participates in recurring construction meetings as required.
  • Supports the execution team.
  • Provides/validates as-builts drawings at the end of the project from redlines provided by the execution.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • Communication skills
  • Capability to work in a Multi Discipline Engineering team
  • Microsoft tools, REVIT & CAD.
  • 5 years of experience in Power Systems Design.
  • Data Centre design experience.
  • Experience with simulation tools such as SKM, ETAP or Easypower.
  • Experience with Generators, UPSs, Schneider Electric & APC products background, desired.
  • Electrical panel design experience: Prisma, Okken, Blockset background.
  • Grounding designs as per IEC, IEEE & TIA 607-B standards.
  • Background in MV designs.
  • Btech in EEE
