Senior Electronics Engineer / Engineering Manager



Job description

In this dynamic role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring our hardware’s reliability, both through hands-on technical work and by leading our technical team on-site in Shenzhen, China. You will create and oversee both automated and manual test setups, addressing issues from the factory or customers. Your tasks will range from soldering PCBs and testing with an ESD gun, to utilising test ovens and electronic loads.

As a leader, you will not only solve technical issues but also manage the daily operations of our on-site team, ensuring effective communication between our manufacturing partners in China and our core team. Your expertise in electronics, production, embedded software, and design will be crucial in guiding and developing our evolving projects and team members.

About the role

  • Leading and managing the on-site technical team in Shenzhen, overseeing day-to-day operations, and ensuring team cohesion and productivity.
  • Designing and implementing essential testing tools, automating test profiles for both our lab and factory settings.
  • Spearheading research and collaborative efforts to explore and resolve emerging technical opportunities.
  • Continuously expanding your expertise and leading your team in the realms of electronics, production, firmware, and design.
  • Conducting hands-on testing of electronic products, overseeing quality checks, and suggesting improvements.
  • Managing diverse technical challenges from conception to completion.
  • Acting as the technical liaison between our manufacturing partners in China and our internal team, analysing test data, production processes, and product designs.

About you

  • Tech-savvy, you enjoy projects like setting up jigs and analysing Excel reports.
  • At least 7 years of hands-on experience.
  • Proficient in STM32, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, LTspice, Altium, and more.
  • A proactive leader, ready to both build and test products as needed and guide a team in doing the same.
  • Structured in approach with a keen eye for detail and quality.
  • Results-driven, focusing on quality, process improvement, cost-efficiency, and team development.
  • Fluent in English (C1 level) with strong communication skills, capable of effectively managing a multicultural team.
