Sales Manager – South America

We’re looking for a proactive and driven Sales Manager with a technical background to help grow our presence across South America, especially in the off-grid energy sector. This is not a traditional employee role but a long-term contractor position ideal for a self-employed professional who thrives in an independent role while working as part of a collaborative, global team. You’ll work closely with our local distribution and installation partners across industries like off-grid solar, marine, mining, telecom, and vehicle/mobile energy.

This opportunity is perfect for someone already based in Argentina or Chile, with the drive and network to build partnerships and explore business opportunities in Central and South American countries especially Argentina, Ecuador, Uruguay among others.

Your Role

As our Sales Manager for the region, you’ll represent Victron Energy with integrity and technical expertise. You’ll connect with distributors, installers, and end-users, identifying growth opportunities across industries with a strong focus on off-grid energy solutions and expanding into the mining, telecom, and renewables sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support our existing partners (distributors, OEMs, and key installers) across Central and selected South American countries like Argentina, Ecuador, Uruguay etc.
  • Collaborate with partners to identify business opportunities in sectors like off-grid solar, telecom, and mining.
  • Strengthen channel relationships and ensure alignment with Victron’s values, standards, and technical expectations.
  • Identify and engage in new business opportunities through proactive cold calling
  • Deliver product and system training, troubleshoot technical scenarios, and build confidence in the Victron ecosystem.
  • Plan and attend technical visits, partner development sessions, and industry trade events.
  • Gather and share local insights: customer feedback, competitor activity, pricing, and market developments.
  • Work closely with LATAM team members on account strategy, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Support partner-led marketing, product launches, and educational events.
  • Deliver training and technical support to customers, ensuring they fully understand Victron Energy’s product offerings and installation processes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Residence in Argentina or Chile is a must.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (Portuguese is a strong advantage).
  • Background in electrical engineering or related technical field.
  • Experience in renewable energy, especially off-grid systems.
  • Knowledge of Victron products or experience in related system design/integration is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with mining, vehicle-based power, or telecom energy is a plus.
  • Self-driven and reliable: able to plan your time, travel when needed, and work remotely.
  • Confident in delivering training, solving technical challenges, and explaining complex systems clearly.
  • Strong communication, account management, and planning skills.
  • The willingness to travel abroad for meetings and trade shows.

What We Offer

  • A competitive contractor fee structure with performance-based incentives.
  • Full coverage of business travel and remote work expenses (home office setup, meetings, events).
  • The opportunity to work with a global leader in energy solutions and a close-knit, international team.
  • A role with flexibility, autonomy, and impact without bureaucracy.
