About the role

As a Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for the management of several fund(s) investing in Micro Finance and/ or Fund of Funds and/or Direct Investments. Your primary responsibility encompasses asset allocation and risk-return management on fund level. This includes monitoring fund liquidity, analyzing and steering fund performance and providing on-time and high-quality reporting to relevant stakeholders. In this respect, Portfolio Management’s role is to safeguard the interests of our investors/fund sponsors and other stakeholders in response to key fund, macro and liquidity developments.

The second focus of your role is fundamental (macro and sector) research including identifying fundamental shifts, economic parameters and FX drivers across the countries and sectors that we invest in. This knowledge will assist you with implementing the optimal asset allocation strategy tailored to the fund specifically. Finally, you contribute to developing and improving the investment and other internal processes, tools and templates within Triple Jump and you participate in overall company projects including new business initiatives. You need to have a qualitative and quantitative approach and you are able to run scenario analyses and stress testing of portfolios through various in-house systems.

As a member of the Financial Institutions team, you will support and represent the department in different internal and external bodies. This includes f.e. the Allocation Committee, which is the first approval body in the Investment Process for new (micro)finance investments across TJ managed funds. Furthermore, Portfolio Managers work closely with several colleagues from other departments within Triple Jump, including Credit Risk & Restructuring Management, Finance, Risk and Investor Relations & Business Development. You will have the opportunity to travel occasionally and report to the Director of Financial Institutions.

About you

  • You have at least five years of working experience and demonstrable track record in the asset management industry;
  • You are experienced in the field of microfinance ;
  • You hold a Master of Finance Degree, or a relevant discipline;
  • You are CFA or CAIA certified or would like to start this course;
  • Experienced in financial modelling;
  • Team player spirit is essential, coupled with the ability to work independently and taking the initiative with solution-oriented thinking;
  • You have excellent English written- and oral communications skills, the ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and supporting various forms of external communication, including conference calls, client meetings and portfolio reviews.
  • Grace under pressure; ability to adapt and get things done;
  • High level of self-motivation, with strong integrity and ethics;
  • A positive, collegial attitude and high level of professionalism;
  • Ability to articulate ideas/concept and represent the team confidently, credibly and persuasively – both verbally and in writing;
  • Strong critical thinking skills, curiosity, and comfort with ambiguity. Able to think out of the box and comfortable to work with a process;
  • Attention to detail combined with a solutions-oriented, strategic mindset, smart enough to learn.
