Junior Investment Analyst – Access



Job description

CrossBoundary Access is recruiting a full-time Junior Investment Analyst to support its investment and portfolio management processes. The ideal candidate will be an essential part of our dynamic team, providing hands-on assistance in key areas such as fundraising, transaction execution, project due diligence, market entry, portfolio management, and investor reporting. As an essential part of our team, you will contribute to the origination and execution of investment mandates, support portfolio management for existing investments, and ensure timely and accurate investor reporting.

About the role

  • Timely and accurate delivery on investor reporting requirements
  • Investment and transaction execution support
  • Conducting market research for new market entry
  • Pre-screening early-stage opportunities
  • Preparation of and periodic update of templates required for transaction execution
  • Preparation and update of project plans
  • Review of transaction documents
  • Fundraising support
  • Preparation of and periodic update of investor decks
  • Data room management
  • Handling of investor Q&A
  • Overall due diligence support
  • Project model updates to assess changes to and progress of investments
  • General administrative support across Access’s senior management and investment teams

About you

  • A self-starter passionate about creating lasting change within the energy sector in underserved markets
  • Detail-oriented, solution focused, and capable of operating in situations where information is scarce, and the environment is constantly changing
  • A diligent closer with excellent follow-through, comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously, and able to prioritize and deliver on tasks
  • Flexible and willing to take on new types of work
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in investment banking, a top-tier accounting firm, or in consulting roles
  • Strong quantitative skills; familiar with financial modelling and valuation
  • Experience in or understanding of working in African markets
  • Required skills and qualifications:
  • Cover letter describing examples of prior work assignments you have completed that are relevant to the responsibilities of the Junior Investment Analyst
  • Excellent strategic writing and presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences
  • Comfort with ambiguity
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree
