ARE is recruiting a Communications & Marketing Assistant based in Brussels, starting in July 2025.

 

About us

At ARE, we unite 200 Members to power economic development worldwide. Our mission is to drive private sector-driven markets for sustainable electricity services, enable green jobs, power equitable green economies and facilitate the transition to clean energy in Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America & the Caribbean.

Our new Communications & Marketing Assistant, who will report to the Communications & Marketing Officer, will play a pivotal role in implementing ARE’s working programme, with a focus on implementing our events, growing the ARE brand and providing services to our members.

 

About the role

  • Support the execution of ARE events, and webinars.
  • Conduct weekly market intelligence research and share findings through our communication platforms.
  • Assist in the creation of the bimonthly ARE Newsletter.
  • Ensure the timely updating of content on the ARE website.
  • Aid in the management of social media channels, particularly on LinkedIn, X, and YouTube, with a focus on community growth and engagement.
  • Design visuals for various ARE events and campaigns.
  • Handle administrative tasks on a need basis, such as onboarding new members and managing the ARE inbox.

 

About you

  • You have a proactive mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • You can provide clear and concise deliverables even under time pressure.
  • You are fluent in English. Fluency in French is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrates writing, editing, and reviewing abilities.
  • IT proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; familiarity with CMS (WordPress) is advantageous.
  • Desirable skills include basic knowledge in graphic design using tools like Canva or Photoshop.
  • You hold a university degree in event management, marketing, communications, sustainability, or related studies, or possess equivalent experience.
  • Must have the right to live and work in Belgium.
  • You have 0-2 years of experience in a similar role, or you’re a passionate newcomer eager to make your mark.
  • Knowledge of additional languages, particularly French, is considered valuable.
