Business Development Representative

Job description

We’re currently in search of a Business Development Representative (d/f/m) to play an instrumental role in shaping the structure of our business development and sales success, and to build a foundation for future growth of our company.

In this role, you will become part of our Emerging Markets Infrastructure team and report to our Head of Business Development.

About the role

  • Manage internal and external communications, including developing and prioritising content for LinkedIn posts.
  • Conduct research on potential clients, competitive landscapes, market trends, and relevant events.
  • Identify and apply for opportunities that align with our platform, including monitoring various portals for suitable initiatives.
  • Handle administrative tasks, such as contract creation, ensuring attention to detail.
  • Maintain, improve and optimise our CRM (HubSpot).
  • Take comprehensive notes during meetings and provide critical insights. Prioritise tasks effectively and support the team in proposal development. Prepare and enhance PowerPoint presentations.
  • Manage our memberships in key industry associations (e.g. Kenya Solar Energy Association, African Mini Grid Association, Gogla).

About you

  • Degree in Business (preferably a Masterʼs).
  •  1-2 years of experience in B2B sales, internships included.
  •  Fluency in English & French is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written communication skills.
  • Experience with proposal developemt and request for proposals.
  • Understanding and maintaining CRM systems (e.g. HubSpot).
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Excellent presentations skills.
  • Familiarity with energy and climate sectors.
