SC sustainable concepts GmbH (SC) is a German company that delivers decentralized photovoltaic electricity and drinking water solutions to local communities far away from the grid to enjoy services similar to their compatriots in the urban centers.
SC has a close partnership with the German company Autarcon to produce safe and pure drinking water by using solar electricity to destroy harmful bacteria often found in water in the rural communities or urban centers with low standards of hygiene. The SuMeWa water purification system can be powered solitary by a stand alone photovoltaic system. No chemicals or other additives are needed, which makes the system an ideal solution for rural areas.
The cooperation with Autarcon resulted in the installation of many autonomous water treatment systems e.g. in Brazil, Cameroon, Egypt, Ghana, Gambia, Kenya, Laos and Tanzania and gave local communities access to modern activities and safe drinking water.
SC has extensive know-how in a wide range of topics extending from material sciences, manufacturing, systems application and international cooperation in R&D. Through its President the company also has access to a large network of experts and partners for solar cells and materials research at leading Universities and Research Centers. We have established networks such as SolarInput and SolarValley where members from the scientific community, from financing and political decision makers work together to accelerate the dissemination of solar electricity.
