Batrica surpasses 500,000 rentals in just a year and a half
In October 2023, ARE Member Batrica installed its first off-grid station in Chad. Since then, the small start-up has made significant progress. With 25 stations now installed in rural villages across Chad, the company has broken rental records in recent months.
In mid-July 2025, the 500,000 rental milestone was reached, a figure that not only demonstrates that our solution is useful but also that there is a real need for it, which encourages us to continue.

One month after this record, the company has added 50,000 more rentals, a first and a source of great pride for our entire team!
In addition, a new record for daily rentals has been set. By renting out 2,444 batteries in just 24 hours, the team has demonstrated its growing commitment, allowing us to envisage a third phase in the coming months.
In total, we currently have 7,000 active customers this month, meaning that around 7,000 Chadian households are benefiting from our solution, and we are proud to offer them a real alternative to overcome their problems!
