ARE powers innovation at Nigeria Renewable Energy Innovation Forum (NREIF) 2025
Hosted by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) in collaboration with UNDP Nigeria and the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE), the Forum brought together government leaders, global development partners, investors, and innovators — all united by a shared mission to position Nigeria as a regional hub for clean energy manufacturing and innovation.
ARE joined the Nigerian Vice President, government stakeholders, and private sector leaders at the event for a landmark dialogue on the Nigeria First policy aimed at accelerating the country’s clean energy transition, with a focus on innovation and local manufacturing.
During the event, the EU reaffirmed its commitment to advancing renewable energy and local innovation in Nigeria, with over ₦524,475,000,000 (€300 million) invested in the power sector since 2008. Through programmes such as GET.invest Nigeria and the Global Gateway, the EU continues to support research, local manufacturing, and private investment to expand sustainable energy access and create green jobs.
