ARE joins S-@ccess Conference in Mallorca, wins prestigious poster award
The Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) actively participated in the S-@ccess – Solar Technologies & Hybrid Mini Grids Conference held in Mallorca from 4-6 September 2024. This year’s event focused on the intersection of energy access with key sectors, such as healthcare, education, and clean cooking technologies, underscoring the crucial role of renewable energy in improving livelihoods and reducing health risks.
Key discussions at the conference explored the impact of energy-efficient appliances in health centres and schools, as well as the promotion of clean cooking solutions to reduce health hazards in rural communities. These discussions highlighted practical, scalable solutions for advancing sustainable development in underserved areas.
Deepak Mohapatra presented ARE’s capacity-building activities, connecting with ARE Members and partners to further foster collaboration. His presentation detailed ARE’s efforts in developing robust energy access solutions and empowering communities through education and training.
ARE also received the prestigious ‘Recognised Poster Contribution” award for its presentation on the ARE Investment Academies and CORE Initiative. The poster showcased ARE’s comprehensive global approach, featuring trainings conducted worldwide, their tangible impacts, and the organisation’s strategic vision for the future.
