ARE highlights the key role of DRE systems for sustainable agriculture at Intersolar Europe

Deepak Mohapatra, Senior Officer, Business & Market Development at ARE, attended the 30th edition of Intersolar Europe on 19-21 June 2024 in Munich, Germany. Intersolar Europe serves as the industry platform for manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, installers, service providers project developers, planners, and start-ups of the solar industry.

Deepak Mohapatra spoke in the session “Off-Grid: Decentralised Water-Energy-Food Nexus”, where he presented the ARE-UNIDO ITPO Germany’s renowned DRE – Agri Campaign. He emphasised on ARE’s and its Members efforts on integration of off-grid systems to power sustainable agriculture in developing countries through factual case studies and actionable recommendations. He further highlighted the positive impact DRE systems can have to improve people’s livelihoods and boost economic and community development.

During the event, Deepak also had the opportunity to meet with ARE Members, Partners, and industry stakeholders such as BMZ, GIZ India, MNRE India, NSEFI, Bavarian Environment Ministry, Germany, etc. in person, engaging in productive discussions about the deployment of DRE solutions.
