ABC Contracting & ABC Sodimel launch major electrical infrastructure project in the DRC with JICA support
ARE Member ABC Contracting, in partnership with ABC Sodimel, is proud to announce the official launch of a major electrical infrastructure project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, implemented with the support of Japanese cooperation (Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)), on behalf of the Japanese consortium NZT, for the benefit of SNEL – the National Electricity Company of the DRC.
As part of this key project aimed at strengthening Kinshasa’s power grid, ABC Contracting will be responsible, at Funa and Liminga substations, for the following works:
- Installation of a new 220 kV bay
- Supply and installation of a 220 kV / 20 kV – 100 MVA power transformer
- Installation of associated protection equipment on both the 220 kV and 20 kV sides
This project perfectly illustrates international technical cooperation between the DRC, Japan and Belgian companies, contributing to the sustainable development of energy infrastructure and the reliability of electricity supply.
