ARE meets Madagascar’s Fisheries Minister to advance renewables in the blue economy

The Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) met with Jaco Chan Kit Waye, Minister of Fisheries and the Blue Economy of Madagascar, to discuss strengthening collaboration on distributed renewable energy solutions.

Talks focused on boosting the productive use of renewable energy in the blue economy, particularly for cold-chain systems and ice production. These applications can reduce seafood spoilage and help fishermen extend selling times, improving incomes and local value chains.

ARE extends its thanks to the Malagasy delegation for visiting its office and engaging in a productive and forward-looking exchange.
