Application Engineer – Hybrid Microgrids



Job description

As an Application Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering tailored technical solutions and supporting our global partners and customers. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing Custom Solutions: Configure controllers and accessories to meet specific customer needs in Hybrid Microgrid (HMG) applications.
  • Assisting with the product specification, installation, commissioning, and training for ComAp controls to meet customer requirements
  • Solving Technical Challenges: Use simulators and real-world testing to troubleshoot and optimise complex systems.
  • Customer Support: Provide expert guidance via email, phone, and on-site visits.
  • Conducting in-house and on-site training for new and existing customers
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, and support teams to deliver seamless solutions.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Lead technical workshops and training sessions both internally and externally.
  • Global Travel: Support projects and build relationships with customers around the world.

What We’re Looking For?

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar technical role
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Strong knowledge of generator paralleling, switchgear, BESS, and renewable energy technologies (e.g., solar, wind)
  • Experience with PLCs, microprocessor-based controls, and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, CAN Bus, TCP/IP)
  • Willingness to travel internationally
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English

Bonus if you have:

  • Hands-on experience designing and commissioning hybrid microgrid systems (on-grid and off-grid)
  • Deep understanding of microgrid components: inverters, BESS, PV systems, wind power, and RICE distributed generation
  • Proven ability to review and optimise hybrid control system designs
