ARE Partner GET.invest reveals data and stories in new Results Deck
ARE’s longstanding Partner GET.invest – a leading European programme co-funded by the European Union, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden and Austria – has recently published its latest Results Deck. The publication provides a comprehensive overview of the programme’s work over the past nine years, showcasing how it has supported clean energy companies and projects in mobilising finance across sub-Saharan Africa, the Pacific and the Caribbean.
The Results Deck highlights the full scope of GET.invest’s activities – from building a robust pipeline of investment-ready projects to connecting them with suitable financiers. Since the launch of the programme in 2016, more than 100 clean energy projects and companies have reached financial close, and more than 200 are in negotiations with financing institutions, bringing their project one step closer to implementation. They include both early-stage initiatives as well as larger infrastructure projects, underlining the programme’s wide reach across different technologies and business models.
The publication also puts the spotlight on a series of success stories. Among them is GET.invest client HDF Energy, which has found a unique solution to capitalise on Barbados’ available resources in the most efficient way while leveraging the advantages of green hydrogen. Through their Renewstable® Barbados project, HDF combines solar energy generation, hydrogen storage and animal farming, thus aligning economic, environmental and social benefits.
Other featured cases demonstrate how the programme’s tailored advisory and matchmaking services translate into real-world investment impact, for instance, by means of solar companies scaling up their operations or infrastructure projects securing the financing needed to move forward.
With a track record of nearly a decade and a partnership with ARE that has lasted almost as long, GET.invest has become a recognised facility for accelerating clean energy investment in emerging markets, now also operating within the framework of the European Union’s Global Gateway strategy. The Results Deck not only presents facts and figures, but also illustrates how close cooperation with companies, financiers and development partners translates into tangible outcomes for climate and development.
