Agence de Développement de l’Electrification Rurale (ADER) Mauritanie

The Rural Electrification Development Agency (ADER) is a Mauritanian private law agency governed by Law 64-098 of 9/6/1964 and recognised as a public utility.

It was created on February 15, 2000, by:

  • The CNEM (National Council of Employers of Mauritania, now PATRONAT)
  • The AMM (Association of Mayors of Mauritania)
  • NASSIM (Association of Rural Electrification Users)

The government delegated project management of the national rural electrification program to ADER through an agreement signed between the two parties on May 11, 2000. By Law 64-098 of 9/6/1964, ADER was recognised as a public utility agency, pursuant to Decree No. 2001-065 of 18/06/2001 adopted by the Council of Ministers.

ADER’s mission is to coordinate and lead the decentralised rural electrification process. The government delegated project management of the national rural electrification program to ADER through an agreement signed between the two parties on May 11, 2000.
