ARE Champions off-grid innovations at Intersolar Europe 2025

The Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) made a strong mark at this year’s Intersolar Europe by spearheading conversations on key off-grid energy solutions. During the Off-Grid Conference, ARE moderated a dedicated session exploring electric cooking, cooling, and water treatment — three critical pillars for improving the quality of life in remote and underserved communities.

Further underlining its leadership in the sector, ARE teamed up with the German Solar Association (BSW) to co-host the Off-Grid Workshop, a curated series of three deep-dive sessions. These workshops covered pressing topics including energy storage, Productive Use of Renewable Energy (PURE), and the importance of standardisation and certification to ensure quality and trust in decentralised energy solutions.

The event also provided a valuable opportunity to engage with ARE Members, including Off-Grid Europe, Phaesun, Cegasa, Victron, Zimpertec, Becquerel Institute, RENAC, Inensus, Empo-Ni, ComAp, and Messe Augsburg — all of whom continue to play a vital role in advancing clean energy access worldwide.

ARE remains committed to fostering collaboration and driving innovation across the off-grid sector to accelerate the global energy transition.
