SteamaCo is a UK-based IoT smart metering technology company with operations in Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. We exist to solve the biggest high-value challenges for utilities in both the off-grid and distribution grid sectors. For the off-grid sector, our IoT smart metering platform is a complete hardware and cloud-based management system that help utilities deliver clean, reliable, and low-cost energy and cut operational costs and boost revenue.

SteamaCo started in 2012 as an Africa-based mini-grid developer. There were challenges out in the field, and we became a technology company to overcome them. We launched the world’s lowest data-usage smart meter and DCU (data concentrator unit) to keep power uptime high, data costs low, with a pay-to-power time of as little as three minutes.
