Job description

The Director of Operations at Ashipa Electric will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company’s operations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability. This role requires a dynamic leader with extensive experience in the electrical industry, strong business acumen, and exceptional management skills.

About you

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to drive operational excellence, achieve business objectives, and support the company’s growth initiatives.
  • Operational Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the operations team, including managers and supervisors, to ensure alignment with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimisation across all areas of operations, including manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, and customer service.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality assurance standards and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services to customers.
  • Financial Management: Manage operational budgets, control costs, and optimise resource allocation to maximise profitability while maintaining quality and efficiency.
  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services and negotiate favorable terms and agreements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and safety protocols to mitigate risk and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Team Development: Mentor, coach, and develop the operations team to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish KPIs and performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of operations and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, engineering, and finance, to coordinate activities and achieve company objectives.

About the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in operations management, preferably in the electrical industry.
  • Proven track record of success in driving operational excellence, process improvement, and cost optimisation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve results.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
