Role brief

We are seeking a highly motivated Program Manager to join the EnAccess Team to drive Energy Access through our Open Innovation approach. As the Program Manager of EnAccess, you will be responsible for managing high-level administrative tasks and ensuring that our remote team is functioning smoothly and efficiently. You will be in charge of overseeing program budgets, tracking and reporting on program performance, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. You will be driving our organisation’s mission by maintaining organised systems, coordinating logistics, and managing relationships with key stakeholders.

As the Program Manager you play a critical role in supporting our mission of advancing open-source solutions for energy access. You will work closely with our CEO and a remote team of dedicated professionals to ensure that our programs run smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for someone with mid-level work experience who is looking to take on a challenging and rewarding role in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3-4 years of working experience, preferably in a non-profit organisation and/or a small company
  • Experience in project management (budget planning, reporting, administration, payroll, pipeline management, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar qualification
  • Excellent ability and interest to quickly learn new tools and skills
  • Ability to work independently and experience with remote teams
  • Familiarity with open-source approach, ideally have worked with Open Source tools
  • Familiarity with public and philanthropic donors and their processes
  • Savvy with Google Workplaces, such as Gmail, Google Drive, etc
  • Experience and network in Energy Access, Renewable Energies, or development aid is a plus
  • Fundraising experience is a plus

 

About the role

  • This is meant to be a full-time or part-time position (min. 50%)
  • Candidates should want to commit for at least one year
  • This position is based in any of the European/African time zones (CET +/- 2h)
  • This will be a job with a mostly remote team, and you must have experience working in these sorts of conditions and rather be motivated by the provided flexibility
  • You will be part of a small team and often have to wear multiple hats and be comfortable and open to leaving your comfort zone in order to learn and grow in these roles
  • Fluency in English is required; written English should be at a native level though we love accents and welcome yours to the team
  • This role is open to all ages, genders, and backgrounds
  • Report to the CEO
  • Salary will be based on experience, but we anticipate it being in the US$ 36k-50k bracket for a full-time position, growing over time based on results
  • International travel will be required
