Job description

Role brief

Gommyr is recruiting a dynamic and capable francophone electrical engineer to join our small and growing team.  The work will be a combination of remote work and site travel when conditions permit.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing electrical engineering for microgrid projects focused on productive-use, industrial and commercial users. This will include the system design and simulation, evaluation of component and supplier options and oversight of project implementation. A desire to work on challenging projects involving new technologies in global markets is required.

About the role

  • Lead engineering activities for the implementation of solar battery and microgrid projects.
  • Independently manage electrical and system engineering tasks including designs, simulations, component specification and selection.
  • Manage and oversee works on-sites including review and oversight of contractors.
  • Keep informed on market developments and educate team members and clients on new technologies.
  • Contribute to proposal preparation and business development.

About you

  • 4+ years of experience in power systems electrical engineering including solar plants, experience with energy storage a plus.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong problem solving, technical, math and science skills.
  • Strong French written and verbal communication.
  • Fluent English.
