Option 1:

Enel Green Power and RES4Africa will organise a half-day site-visit program to 3SUN Factory and Passo Martino Innovation Lab in Sicily. The programme aims to showcase these sites on renewable energy innovation and manufacturing, as well as to demonstrate Italian renewable energy industry leadership.

      

Agenda:

08:00 - 12:30

  1. 3SUN Factory: 3SUN will showcase its new manufacturing production line for bi-facial solar PV modules;
  2. Passo Martino Innovation Lab: The Enel Innovation Lab for startup and enterprise creation includes facilities for research and innovation for these companies. The lab will reopen in March 2018 and is currently looking at developing partnerships with African innovative businesses.

Transportation to and from the sites will be foreseen by the organisers.

Option 2: 

As part of Winch Energy's sponsorship of the 4th ARE Energy Access Investment Forum Winch Energy will be hosting a site visit to be included within the conference programme.

 

 

Agenda:

08:00 - 11:00

Pick up and return arranged from ARE conference location at Grand Hotel Villa Itria at 8 am.

It is estimated that it will take 30 minutes to get from the hotel to the site. Delegates will be able to see Winch Energy’s Remote Power Unit (RPU) system, which will be fully erected in the factory grounds. The RPU is Winch Energy’s containerised solar generation power plant system used in Winch’s rural mini-grid projects in sub-Saharan Africa. The RPU that delegates will see will be a 30kW PV and integrated battery system.

On arrival, Winch Energy will give a short introduction to the system and then give a guided tour of the unit and its components. There will be opportunities for delegates to ask questions and see the RPU in action. It is estimated that participants will spend no more than 1 hour at the factory before returning to the hotel.
