RES4MED Annual Conference: Innovation as the key enabler to power Africa

RES4MED will host its 5th annual conference in Rome, providing again a platform for discussion for members, partners and key stakeholders on strategic ways forward to promoting sustainable energy in the African continent.

As 2017 marks the 5th Anniversary of RES4MED, the conference will take a special look at RES4MED’s approach and operating model, highlighting key activities and achieved results in the Mediterranean and Sub-Saharan Africa.

The conference will also introduce a thematic discussion on the role of sustainable energy innovation to empower Africa, along the lines presented at the G7 energy side event organized in Rome on 9th April 2017.

As innovative sustainable energy solutions are a driver to achieve social and economic development, this event will present African innovative solutions, business models, and capable players to scale up investments into projects and initiatives that can bring electricity to hundreds of millions of Africans.

ARE Executive Director Marcus Wiemann will join the debate as panelist in Session 1: ‘Innovation thinking and innovative business models’.
