The Africa-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP) is pleased to invite you to the upcoming Accessing Africa’s Renewable Energy Markets event, which will take place at the Renaissance Brussels Hotel on the 4th of December 2014.

In Africa, energy demand is estimated to increase significantly over the next 30 years. Africa’s extensive renewable energy resources remain largely untapped, presenting attractive investment opportunities for European renewable energy companies.

The RECP promotes market development for renewable energy in Africa. The programme assists European businesses to engage in African renewable energy markets from first contact to financial closure. Information about markets and financing opportunities, match-making activities with African business partners, in-country technical training, as well as policy advice to overcome regulatory barriers are part of the RECP’s integrated approach, in cooperation with European business associations, donors and financing instruments.To kick-start this joint effort, the RECP will bring together business associations, export initiatives, business networks and chambers of commerce that represent the European renewable energy private sector to provide information about:

  • Business opportunities in African countries
  • Success stories in the African renewable energy sector
  • RECP's scope of activities and services, particularly with regard to private sector cooperation
