Solar Cooling Engineering GmbH (SCE) is a spin-off company of the Institute of Agricultural Engineering of the University of Hohenheim in Germany. Its mission is to raise awareness on the use of solar energy for refrigeration with focus on low GWP refrigerants, thermal storage and sustainable insulation materials. SCE provides technical support to institutions form the private and public sector promoting the local production as pathway to reduce final system cost and create specialised jobs. In this line, SCE has developed the SelfChill Approach for the commercialisation of modular cooling solutions within an strong cooperation with its distributor Phaesun GmbH.
