Scene Connect is a social enterprise that operates in the Local Energy and Energy Access sectors in the UK, sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Scene is a consultancy and R&D business meaning it has unique market insight as both practitioners and researchers.

Scene develops products that can monitor and control off-grid and national grid connected renewable energy assets for solar-home system providers, minigrid developers, national utilities and electricity network operators. Scene develop products in-house before commercialising the IP through specific commercialisation vehicles. Scene has taken three products to market through this model. It currently has two products in the R&D phase 1) a minigrid controller and 2) virtual power plan (VPP) software platform. Both control renewable energy assets to ensure grid stability and enable new business models on minigrids and national grids, respectively.
