Energy Peace Partners leverages climate and finance solutions to support peace and stability for all through renewable energy. Our team combines expertise in international peacebuilding, renewable energy, and climate security. EPP has launched the Peace Renewable Energy Credit (P-REC) in order to unlock new renewable energy investment that extends the promise of the renewable energy revolution to the planet’s most vulnerable communities. EPP issues one P-REC for every one MWh of renewable energy generated from approved projects. P-RECs provide a market mechanism that allows developers in our target countries to monetise renewable energy generation while providing corporate renewable energy buyers an entry point to meet sustainability and social responsibility goals by supporting transformative projects. The inaugural sale of P-RECs were to Microsoft from a mini-grid in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo.
