Company Description

Qinous develops and markets standardized all-in-one energy storage system for the integration of renewable energies in isolated mini-grids and for various on-grid applications. Our systems are based on high-quality lithium ion or aqueous hybrid ion batteries and are available in the mid-power range (30kW up to 1MW+). Our solution includes the battery system, grid-forming battery inverter, housing with temperature control and a mini-grid management system with remote access and an intuitive human-machine interface. Depending on size our system come in a compact housing, 20ft or 40ft ISO container.

In February 2016 Qinous had installed or had under construction a total of nearly 7MWh within 12 projects in 5 countries. Our references include hospitals, a fast-charging system, a village grid, a remote settlement and system for the increase of self-consumption. 

Qinous was founded in 2013 by Steffen Heinrich, Dr. George Hanna and Busso v. Bismarck and is based in Berlin, Germany.

Job description

Your future accomplishments:   

  • Contribute to the further development and the operation of our web  application used to monitor, control, configure and analyse a micro-grid control  system.  

  • Develop, test and ship software using Typescript, React/Redux, version control,  unit tests and continuous integration.  

  • As the application runs offline on an embedded PLC that doesn’t offer a lot in  terms of backend services, you will solve engineering problems from the ground  up without relying on ready made services.  

  • Support in the design of the system architecture.   

  • As an early member of our team, you will also contribute to the UI/UX design.  

  • You provide input and ideas for new technologies, methods and improvements  proactively.  

  • You’ll be accompanied by a senior developer, but will take over more and more  responsibilities over time.    

Your background:  

  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Developer for web applications, ideally  using technologies such as TypeScript, React and Redux.   

  • Experienced in building and designing web-applications, ideally for monitoring  industrial or electromechanical processes.  

  • Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS and interest in web standards.  

  • Familiarity with dynamic and static type systems, OOP and functional  programming.  

  • You have knowledge of product development and an feel for user experience and  interface.  

  • You have good judgement when it comes to software dependencies and all  execution requirements.  

  • Great communication skills and fluency in English and preferably German.  

  • Bachelor or Master studies in Informatics, Mathematics, Computer Engineering  or similar is considered a large plus.
