Company Description

NXT Grid provides rented solar panels and batteries to mini-grid entrepreneurs in Africa. The equipment comes with web and mobile tools to automate payments collection and data analysis on sales and utilisation - which are both critical KPIs for solar mini-grids profitability. NXT Grid automates load control, to maximise the amount of solar energy produced that is used, in turn leading to an exceptionally high portion of the kWh produced being sold. The NXT Grid platform makes it possible for a non-engineer to run their own local utility and be profitable in their endeavour.

The rented equipment is packaged by NXT Grid in investable companies (Special Purpose Vehicles, SPVs). This creates a facilitated connection between international investors and donors to small clean mini-grids. By working with NXT Grid, Financiers and Donors can expand their reach to an otherwise inaccessible market. The NXT Grid involvement in operations further acts as a de-risking measure, thanks to the prioritised payments collection service and AI-enabled utilisation ratio booster; both features serve as a way for Financial Partners to maximise the financial and impact return of their mini-grid investment strategy.
