Job description

We are recruiting a ‘Communications & Marketing Intern’ for May-October 2021 (full-time, 38h per week) to support the Communications & Marketing Manager in the implementation of the organisation’s communications strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of social media channels and community management (LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook) and growing the ARE community (19,000 followers);
  • Support with the ARE Newsletter (liaison with contributors, reviewing, editing);
  • Support with the ARE weekly alert (compilation of market intelligence;)
  • Support with updating the ARE website (management of job platform);
  • Project support for publications, events, exhibitions and webinars;
  • Administrative tasks on an ad-hoc basis (e.g. invoicing).

Profile:

  • University degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, journalism or business preferably with a focus on developing countries and/or the energy/environment/sustainability/climate change sector
  • Previous work experience in a business association, international/European institution, NGO or company desirable;
  • Strong organisational and IT skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); knowledge of CMS, e-mail marketing software and graphic design is an advantage;
  • Strong writing, editing and reviewing skills;
  • Near native English is essential; knowledge of other languages (particularly French, Portuguese, Spanish or German) would be an asset;
  • Ability to communicate with the team, prioritise tasks and provide clear and concise deliverables under time pressure;
  • Ability to think ‘out of the box’, be creative and a ‘can do’ attitude;
  • Ability to work remotely in an efficient manner;
  • Keen eye for details is a must;
  • Self-starter attitude, flexible, efficient and a good team player.
