The third edition of the International Off-grid Renewable Energy Conference and Exhibition (IOREC) took place in Nairobi, Kenya from 30 September to 1 October, 2016. The conference was organised by IRENA, in partnership with the Kenya Ministry of Energy and Petroleum and the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE).

Conference

IOREC is the global platform for sharing experience and best practices on the design and implementation of enabling policies, tailored financing schemes, innovative business models and technology applications for stand-alone and mini-grid systems. The first edition of IOREC was organised in Accra, Ghana in 2012 and the second in Manila, Philippines, in 2014.

  1. Will the exhibition be held at the same time as the IOREC?

    In parallel with the Conference at IOREC, ARE is organising an exhibition to give the private sector an opportunity to showcase products/projects, and offer participants networking opportunities.

  2. What does the cost of booth space include?
     

    9m(3m x 3m)
    2.5m high
    2 spotlights per stand
    1 power outlet per stand
    1 rubbish bin per stand
    1 plain table per stand
    2 chairs per stand
    Fascia lettering
    Charge also includes provision of an electrician throughout the duration of the event.

    Extra Equipment

    Flipchart stand/papers/pens – USD 26
    LCD projector – USD 80 per day

    Other benefits
    Free access to secure parking at the Hotel Car Park.
    Access to a well-equipped Business Center open from 7.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. 7 days a week.

    All other extras such as telephone calls, faxes, e-mail, internet, photocopying, beverages etc. available at an extra cost

    The venue will be overseen by security, however, the organisers are not responsible for any stolen or damages good in the stands. Exhibitors should make their own security provisions.

  3. Am I allowed to share booth space with another company?

    Only companies that are legally affiliated can share booth space.

  4. What is the deadline for companies to submit a space application?

    31 August 2016

  5. What should I do if I have questions or concerns onsite?

    Staff will be available throughout the exhibition if you have any concerns onsite.

  6. As of when can I start setting up my booth?

    With the SEED Conference taking place on 28-29 September 2016, exhibitors are invited to set up their stand at 6am on 30 September 2016 before the start of the Conference.

  7. Will there be a space for posters and brochures?
     

    There will be no official poster exhibition at IOREC but exhibitors should feel free to place any type of posters related to their projects or products at their stand.

    ARE members, who do not take a stand, may display up to 1 brochure at our partner stand.

  8. Will the booth be cleaned each night? Is that service included in the booth cost?

    Yes, cleaning (vacuuming) is included in the price of the booth
