Powerlive Zimbabwe is a women social enterprise that sells, distributes and installs scalable solar home and business energy systems for productive use on Pay As You Go to rural off-grid areas in Zimbabwe. This is achieved through rural women social groups and this is where most of the sales agents come from. Women constitute 85% of the sales agents that are on the ground. The business model is centred on women as the major player for household productivity and livelihood. Our idea of women empowerment is to increase the participation of women in the value chain because we believe they are affected the most by energy poverty. We offer solar energy systems that include solar home systems and others that power several appliances that include TVs, solar water pumps and hair clippers. Our target customers are mostly rural and off-grid small scale farmers.
