Are wants to stimulate and support durable rural electrification and to promote renewable energy as a tool against CO² emission, energy dependency and rural poverty.

ARE wants to facilitate the involvement of its members within the rural electrification global dialogue and to work with them to gain access to the emergent energy market.
 
To carry out these objectives, ARE is identifying the technological and financial gaps in the rural electrification process, based on the experience and expertise of its members, in order to generate appropriate answers to fill in these gaps. ARE is lobbying before the relevant stakeholders, to generate funds for rural electrification. ARE is developing communication tools and materials to spread out among stakeholders and throughout the international community.

ARE membership is open to all companies and institutions with a interest in the renewable energy field.
