Internship at ARE
Main function: Assisting the ARE secretariat, with a focus on communication and development activities.
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Duration: Six months, full time, Monday-Friday
Location: Brussels, Renewable Energy House
Key responsibilities include:
- Research, input and management of various stakeholder databases
- Draft of communication materials
- News Monitoring for the website and the Newsletter of the Alliance
- Media and policy monitoring and analysis
- Assisting to some meetings, taking minutes
- Assistance with the preparation of conferences and divers events
- Other duties as assigned...
Knowledge, experience and skills required:
- Graduate in Environmental Studies, Communication, journalism, Political Sciences, International Relations, European affairs or in any other relevant fields.
- Understanding of the EU decision making process
- Excellent verbal and written command of English other languages (particularly French, Spanish or German) are a strong asset
- Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Knowledge and Interest in renewable energies and in developing countries
- Strong organizational skills
- A quick learner, team spirit, autonomous, excellent communications and interpersonal skills
- Interest in working in a small organization within the so called Brussels environment
Desirable:
- Previous experience in an international environment or non-for-profit organization (European institutions, NGO etc.) either in a specific policy area or in communication.
